She is a development sociologist interested in everyday processes of reordering in conflict-affected settings. Her work has focused on themes related to (resource) governance, gender transformation and claim-making practices. She is currently art of a research consortium on localising land governance in DRC and Burundi and acts as the co-chair of Landac, the Netherlands Land Academy.
