Jens Sejrup


Dr.

Biblio: Jens Sejrup holds a Ph.D. in Asian Studies as well as an M.A. in Japanese Studies (Univ. of Copenhagen), and, alongside his work at IKOS, is an associated researcher at University of Copenhagen's Dept. of Anthropology. There, he is a team member in the research project Global Europe: Constituting Europe from the Outside In through Artefacts. He has previously worked as a research fellow at the Centre for East and South-East Asian Studies, Lund University, Sweden. Jens has authored a number of research publications, including articles in Pacific Affairs, Public Relations Inquiry, Social Science Japan Journal, Museum History Journal, and Berliner China-Hefte/Chinese History and Society, and a book chapter in Japanese Taiwan: Colonial Rule and its Contested Legacy (ed. Andrew Morris, Bloomsbury, 2015). In addition, Jens engages very actively in outreach activities. Besides giving public presentations and introductions, he is a frequently used commentator and analyst of Japanese and East Asian current affairs in national Danish television and radio as well as in various print media. He also works at the Department of Culture Studies and Oriental Languages, University of Oslo.
