B:1944Klosterneuburg Biblio: Nach der Matura arbeitete Monika Pelz als Journalistin, Sekretärin und Übersetzerin. Sie machte eine Lehre als Antiquariatsbuchhändlerin, bevor sie Philosophie und Wirtschafts- und Sozialgeschichte studierte. 1984 wurde sie zur Dr. phil. promoviert. Schon während des Studiums war sie als Lokalreporterin und Fernsehjournalistin tätig, heute arbeitet sie als Wissenschaftlerin, Journalistin und Schriftstellerin in Wien. Im Jahr 2000 erhielt Monika Pelz für ihr Gesamtwerk den Österreichischen Würdigungspreis für Kinder- und Jugendliteratur Place of Activity: Wien
