Roberto Alemann (December 22, 1922 – March 27, 2020) was an Argentine lawyer, economist, publisher, and academic. Twice Minister of Economy, he was also the Argentine ambassador to the United States and director of the traditional Argentine-German newspaper Argentinisches Tageblatt. He was implementing an economic policy that aimed to decrease the inflation rate, deregulate, and destatize the economy until the Argentine Armed Forces began the Falklands War in April 1982. The liberal economic reforms proposed since December 1981, during the military dictatorship of Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri, remained unfinished. (Source: DBPedia)
