Biblio: Nach seiner Promotion wurde Berry an die Fakultät der University of Chicago berufen, wo er bis 1976 als Irving B. Harris Professor für Stadtgeographie, Vorsitzender des Fachbereichs Geographie und Direktor des Center for Urban Studies tätig war. Von 1976 bis 1981 war Berry Frank-Backus-Williams-Professor für Stadt- und Regionalplanung an der Graduate School of Design, Vorsitzender des PhD-Programms für Stadtplanung und Professor für Soziologie an der Fakultät für Kunst und Wissenschaften, Direktor des Laboratory for Computer Graphics and Spatial Analysis und Fakultätsmitglied des Institute for International Development in Harvard. Anschließend wurde er für fünf Jahre zum Universitätsprofessor für Urban Studies and Public Policy und Dekan des Heinz College an der Carnegie Mellon University ernannt. Seit 1986 an der University of Texas in Dallas.

    Brian Joe Lobley Berry (born February 16, 1934) is a British-American human geographer and city and regional planner. He is Lloyd Viel Berkner Regental Professor in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. His urban and regional research in the 1960s sparked geography’s social-scientific revolution and made him the most-cited geographer for more than 25 years. (Source: DBPedia)
