Henning Behrens (born 1 February 1940) is a German economist and political scientist. In the 1970s, he worked as a special Assistant to the German government to coordinate basic research on divided Germany, helping to pave the final shift for the reunification of Germany in the late 1980s. At that time period, he also started his academic career: publishing 7 books and numerous articles in the disciplines of international relations, economics and business, with special reference to globalization.
