Ronald Joel Daniels CM (born 1959) is a Canadian academic and the current president of the Johns Hopkins University, a position which he assumed on March 2, 2009. Daniels' tenure in this role has been extended twice, and is currently set to run through 2029. Daniels was previously the vice-president and provost at the University of Pennsylvania, and prior to that was dean of the University of Toronto Faculty of Law. Daniels received his B.A. (1982) and J.D. (1986) degrees from the University of Toronto, and his LL.M. (1988) degree from Yale Law School. In December 2016, Daniels was invested into the Order of Canada at the grade of Member. He was elected to the American Philosophical Society in 2018 and is also a member of the American Academy of Arts & Sciences. (Source: DBPedia)
