Louis A. Kasekende is a Ugandan economist, who serves as the executive director of the Macroeconomics and Financial Management, Institute of Eastern & Southern Africa (MEFMI), based in Harare, Zimbabwe, since 1 April 2021. Before that, he served as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Uganda, the country's central bank. He began his five-year term in this position on 18 January 2010. This marked the second time that he was appointed to this office, having served in the same capacity from 1999 until 2002. (Source: DBPedia)
