abstractThis study evaluated discrimination against children with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) in Swedish sports clubs through a field experiment. Two fictitious fathers sent emails to 193 top-division clubs in football, floorball, ice hockey, and handball, one disclosing his son's T1DM condition. The investigation focused on disparities in clubs' responses and information provided. Results indicated no significant difference in positive or comprehensive responses between emails mentioning T1DM and those that did not, suggesting minimal bias at initial contact and an inclusive approach by the clubs towards children with T1DM.

Link Link 5. Social benefits of clean energy : evidence from Bangladesh
abstractSolar adoption exploded until 2015 in Bangladesh, setting a precedent for electrifying previously unconnected areas worldwide. This study tries to measure the welfare effects of solar adoption using the three rounds of the Bangladesh Integrated Household Surveys. We applied both ordinary least squares and propensity score matching techniques to estimate the welfare effects of solar adoption. We found that solar adoption is associated with higher income, expenditure, and asset value growth, and a massive reduction in kerosene expenditure than non-adopters. Other findings include that solar households tend to abandon sharecropping in favor of trading and poultry farming, and that children in solar households benefit in terms of schooling and nutrition.

9. The employability of ex-offenders : a field experiment in the Swedish labor market
abstractThis paper presents the findings of a field experiment on hiring discrimination against ex-offenders in the Swedish labor market. Matched pairs of written job applications for fictitious male and female applicants with and without a past conviction of assault were sent to employers for nine different occupations. Results show that discrimination against ex-offenders exists, but the extent of it varies across occupations. The past conviction of assault was associated with 7–18 percentage point lower probability of receiving a positive employer response. Discrimination against ex-offenders was pronounced in female-dominated and high-skilled occupations. The magnitude of discrimination against ex-offenders did not vary by applicants’ sex.
